Quote of the Day

At the beginning of the 20th century, the rabbonim paskened in Poland not to cooperate with the Zionists. during the Holocaust rabbonim said to stay in Germany and not run away, and they made a mistake. With Har Habayit as well they are mistaken....100 years ago Rav Kook paskened it is prohibited for women to vote in elections.. Baruch Hashem the world has changed, though the rabbonim naturally get pulled along by the people but do not lead revolutions....

 -- MK Yehuda Glick (Likud)

that is a tough statement..

  1. Ignoramus politicians make harsh statements against Judaism all the time. Not newsworthy.

    1. It may be a condemnation of Haredism, but what does that have to do with Judaism?

  2. What he calls a mistake others might say was and is hashgacha moving the nation in a certain direction. Just proof that a kipa and beard do not mean that a person has a religious perspective...

    1. So you're saying the Jews killed in the Holocaust had is coming? That Hashem wanted them to die? Just spell it out, please.

  3. Glick has nothing to do with Judaism. Its not a tough statement. It's a stupid statement. Worthy of a politician....oh....

  4. If people have such hostility towards politicians making statements about the rulings of rabbis, perhaps they should argue just as vehemently against rabbis going into politics.

    1. personally I think it only hurts religion... but if ti must be so and rabbis feel the need to go into politics, they have to be open to criticism and cannot hide behind religion as if nobody can criticize them because of their being rabbis

  5. This same Yehuda Glick is one of those who sees no wrong in interfaith praying with the Xtians,r'l. Look it up. He is just another politician, which means 'go as the wind blows'. Very, very rarely will you find a trustworthy politician. Just a fact.

  6. He's right. Rabbis generally do not lead revolutions. Though they are always welcome to broaden their vision and support (and help guide) them.

  7. Like other 'tough statements', it's accurate.
