Tweet of the Day
I was asked several times today about the optics of Hamas’ obvious strength.
— Lt. Col. (R) Peter Lerner (@LTCPeterLerner) January 19, 2025
Here’s the real optics:
A few hundred people crammed together to make it look like endless masses.
Today the images from the ground were orchestrated by Hamas, they wanted to project power, everything… pic.twitter.com/PDCeIw3zW7

The problem is that we're so focused on the lies Hamas tells, we're ignoring our own.
ReplyDeleteIsrael never re-occupied more than half of Gaza.
They never destroyed many tunnels and didn't find many of them.
They claimed to destroy all Hamas' brigades but thousands of terrorists were out on the streets right after the ceasefire was announced.
And Egypt is allowing uninspected convoys through, doubtlessly stuffed full with arms.
So Israel has accomplished very little and will shortly have nothing to show for it.
The new convoys aren't being inspected anymore?
DeleteThis is something I'm very concerned about. I know we have some significant accomplishments from the war but largely we've spent 15 doing not much, at least in the sense of getting rid of hamas as a ruling authority in Gaza
DeleteTo do much would've resulted in more civilians being killed.
DeleteEveryone else is allowed to kill 9 civilians for every enemy soldier. If Israel manages 1:1, it's unacceptably high.
Had Israel done this right, they would've plowed into Gaza, hit everything hard, flooded the tunnels with sea water and finished everything in a few months. They didn't. The Americans wouldn't allow them either.
And as a result, they have nothing to show for it.
@Garnel Ironheart they did attempt flooding the tunnels. Supposedly it was effective. There were too many bomb proof doors at various points, among other issues.
Delete(At least that's what they said)
They flooded tunnels but there's still all these tunnels that just got used again.
DeleteThey wiped out all the terrorists but there's still thousands of them.
