murderer via Corona
Rav Shmuel Ashkenazi was a 98 year old man loving in Meah Shearim. He was known as "the man of the books" due to his custom to purchase a new torah book every single day.
Rav Asheknazi initially davened at home during the first period of Corona, but when the public sense was that it is all over, he decided to go back to shul.
Sure enough, recently someone with CoronaVirus went to shul, the same shul as Rav Ashkenazi, and sat down near him and davened. This person, it turns out, had Corona and knew he had Corona, and went to shul anyway. Shortly after that Rav Ashkenazi developed symptoms of CoronaVirus and yesterday died. According to the article it is clear he died of Corona that he contracted from this other person in shul and he had no pre-existing conditions or ailments.
This person is a murderer and should be tried for murder. Instead of looking for a gun, the mruder weapon is his CoronaVirus.
I don't want to blame the victim, but 98 year old men should not be going to shul right now. Especially because so many people are not ebing careful and treating it as if Corona is finished. No matter how careful you might be, if you are in a high risk group it is a risk you should not be taking.
The rabbi of my parents shul, and I have heard of many rabbis saying similarly, has told the elderly members of the shul to stay home, daven with an outdoor minyan if possible (or daven at home), and not return to shul. It is too risky.
If you are in a high risk group, daven outdoors in an outdoor minyan, or at home if an outdoor minyan is not possible, and keep all the distancing rules. Go for your walks in quiet areas, get some fresh air without coming into contact with others. Do what you need to do, but don't go spend an hour or two indoors with a bunch of people who you do not know where they have been or what they are carrying.
And that shul should be shut down and sealed up because of this incident.

Interesting Shailoh: Racist Assassination
According to this story, as reported on Kikar, a hassid in Tzfat was disturbed that his son was engaged to a girl of Yemenite descent. He was so disturbed that he asked his rebbe, an unnamed Admor, if he would be permitted to murder his future daughter-in-law because she is Yemenite.
Hassidim really don't do anything without first asking the rebbe...
The Admor asked him to explain why he wants to kill her. He explained, again, that it is because his son is Ashkenazi, and his fiance is Yemenite.
The Admor went to the police and reported the person and his intentions of murder. The hassid was arrested, and has been served with an indictment. The Admor's testimony says that the accused told him of his desire to mess up the wedding. He told the police that this fellow is someone who is capable of carrying it out.
The hassid denies the allegations. (I guess that means he is accusing his rebbe of being a liar.) He explains that he believes the neshama of his sons bride must be of the same root as his own - Ashkenazi. He is convinced that his sons marriage will fail, if it were to be allowed to go on as planned, because their cultures and their customs are different.
The lawyer for the accused put out a statement saying that they deny the accusation. The indictment claims he actively threatened the person, while they deny any threat was ever made. At the same time, he also called on them to have social workers evaluate his client.
Now that is crazy!

Murder in Mea Shearim!
There are now allegations that Rav Elyashiv was actually murdered. Why someone would have murdered him I am not sure, but seeing the chaos his death has caused, I can only imagine what the motives were.
By now you are definitely wondering if I have gone crazy. Very possibly that [my going crazy] happened a long time ago, but this murder allegation was actually just alleged yesterday.
According to Bechadrei, Rav Birnzweig, a rav in the Mirrer Yeshiva, claimed during his mussar shiur, that Rav Elyashiv was murdered. He said:
Recently we have heard of gedolei yisroel who have passed from this world, everybody must arouse themselves [to teshuva]. Rav Elyashiv and the Admor of Shomrei Emunim were murdered due to the yeshiva bochurim and kollel avreichim who use smartphones.I thought Jewish moms were the experts at guilt trips. That's a pretty wild claim. It almost sounds like they were fighting over an iPhone in the school yard and it led to murder... "murder" isnt even "died for the generations sins" - it is much worse. I wonder if someone is going to call the police to report the murder...

Rav Amar On The Murder Of Rav Elazar Abuchatzeira
If anybody can exhort the people in such a manner, to improve their relations with fellow human beings, to be easy going, to be taught manners, etc. it is Rav Amar. Just last night I saw a report on Kikar about a bris ceremony in which Rav Amar was honored with being the sandak. The father of the baby was performing the circumcision, and Rav Amar realized that he was preparing to use a method (called "The Saloniki method". I never heard of it, but that is what the report says.) that is designed to minimize the amount of blood the baby would lose.
Rav Amar, himself an experienced mohel as well, considers this method to be more dangerous. Rav Amar calmly suggested that perhaps this method is too dangerous, and explained the problems with it. The father, the mohel, responded that this is the method he prefers to use. Rav Amar asked why, as it puts the baby into more danger.
The father screamed at him saying he knows what he is doing, and who are you to tell me how to circumcise..
Rav Amar is the paradigm of a person who stays calm, speaks to people pleasantly, does not respond to insult, and is well-mannered and forgiving. If anyone can say that what we need nowadays is to be taught manners, good character traits, to reduce hate and rage, to eliminate anger and strictness and to increase love and friendship and be easy-going, forgiving and good, it is Rav Amar.

The Lesson Learned From Leiby Kletsky's Murder
The lesson being taken from the Kletsky murder is that cases of abuse and molestation must be reported to the police. No more reporting to groups of rabbonim or local "tzniyus patrols" or the like. No more sweeping things under the carpet, no more chasing perps or alleged perps to different cities, states, neighborhoods, no more protecting the rights of accused molesters while letting victims hang out to dry.
As stated, I agree with the lesson. I have gone on record many times here about the issue of reporting.
The only thing is that I don't see what this lesson has to do with the Kletsky murder.
As of right now at least, nobody is saying that the perp in this case, this Levi Aron, was ever previously accused of anything even remotely similar - no abuse, no molestation, no nothing. As of right now, nobody is accusing any rabbonim of sweeping a case away that ended up with Aron moving to another city or neighborhood and eventually committing this murder.
If this case had nothing to do with any rabbonim or tzniyus patrols or the community sending him away, how can that lesson be learned from this case. He did not commit this murder under the protection of rabbonim or anything else.
Again, while agree with the point of the lesson, I don't see what it has to do with this case.
Yes, if that should be discovered, if it should be discovered that he was protected, or investigated internally, that would be another story. As of right now, at this point in the story, that is not the case. If we are going to extrapolate lessons that have nothing to do with the story, there are probably all sorts of unconnected lessons we can pontificate about.

Aftermath Of Leiby Kletsky Murder: How Could This Happen?

Muslims slaughter Christians and nobody cares
In Nigeria yesterday, Muslims murdered 400 Christians for no particular reason. They shot gunfire to get peoples attention. When they came to see what was going on, they just cut them down with machetes - small children, old men - whoever could not run away. As well, they destroyed 300 churches.
No public condemnation, no UN sanctions or threats, no UN Council discussion, etc. I guess nobody cares about them.Muslim gangs attacked three villages in central Nigeria and killed up to 400 Christians in pre-dawn attacks on March 7. “The shooting was just meant to bring people from their houses, and then when people came out they started cutting them with machetes,” said one witness. Another added, “We saw mainly those who are helpless, like small children and then the older men, who cannot run, these were the ones that were slaughtered.”
Some 300 Christian churches have been destroyed in the area around Jos during the past four years. In an interview with Aid to the Church in Need, Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama of Jos described his efforts to have friendly relations with Muslims, the effects of the local imposition of Sharia, and the caution with which he catechizes potential Muslim converts, some of whom “come just because they want to infiltrate.”

Did Jack Teitel kill them or not?
But did he do it? It seems it is not so clear. They have absolutely no proof that he was the murderer in any of the murders he admitted to. One might think his admission might be enough, but it might turn out to be not enough. He is starting to deny his involvement in some of the cases, claiming he lied (coerced?) under interrogation. I don't think he denied them all, but it might come to that.
Anyway, without proof they might not have much of a case. In the meantime, all they are charging him with, according to the article in todays newspaper, is bearing unregistered firearms, incitement, and threatening behavior.
As I said before, this story interests me because he was a former classmate of mine. If he doesn't get hit for the murders, he will no longer be my most infamous classmate, just the most famous.

How did Arafat die?
The spokesterrorist of Hamas announced that in their raids of Gaza and the PA government offices, they have uncovered documentation and evidence that Mohammed Dahlan, the PA Chief of Security (and member of Fatah) was responsible for the death/murder of Yasser Arafat.
It did not say how Dahlan had Arafat killed.
When Arafat died, there were varying rumors as to what was the cause of death. The PA never released any real information. The PA accused Israel of being responsible for his death. There were rumors Arafat died of anything from AIDS to cancer and many other options as well..
It looks like, if Hamas can be trusted at all, the PA killed its founder. A senior member of Fatah killed the founder of Fatah.

murder in the Israel safari
Actually that is not true. Yossi did it.
Yossi is an elephant. Yossi, a 33 year old, 7 ton elephant went, in full public, and murdered Atari, a 46 year old 5 ton elephant. He smashed into Atari a number of times until Atari collapsed and died.
Yossi is being held for questioning and is pending the investigation. According to this article, Yossi will be allowed conjugal visits.
After speaking to Yossi's lawyers asking for a statement, it seems the insanity plea will only be used as a last resort. Anybody who has information that might exonerate Yossi is being asked to step forward and shed light on the matter.
I am hoping the visitors who filmed the incident will soon upload them to Youtube and I will try to locate them for you... Unless the video cameras have been confiscated as evidence.
There goes the neighborhood.
