Israelis Prefer To Expose More
Interesting thought to consider. An editorial piece written on the Kikar Shabbat website considers the wedding dress of Katherine Middleton, now the wife of Prince William after Friday's "Royal Wedding".
he writes that on the radio they were interviewing an expert on weddings and they were discussing how the wedding dress Kate Middleton wore was so beautiful, simple and modest, and how that is going to be the hit of the year and all brides are going to look for dresses that are similar in style.
The expert then said that that will happen all over Britain and Europe, and quickly added that in Israel this type of dress will never work.
Why not, the interviewer asked?
The expert's answer was "The dress is too modest. By us the brides love to wear dresses that expose a lot. Israelis will not wear that type of dress.
Interesting to consider. They prefer to completely ignore the most popular styles because they are not exposed enough.

ReplyDeleteanyone who has traveled in europe knows that the secular women there are more conservative than the secular women here.
ReplyDeleteI think it has a lot to do with the fact that secular women here don't want to have anything to do with the religious sector so they try to get as far away as possible from anything remotely modest.
