Standard procedure today for the attorney to sue for millions (1/3 to himself) and say it’s not about the money, but about “justice” or protecting society.
Where in halacha does it say that one may financially destroy the Terem physician, staff, and Teem organization (even if they could have caught this rare event by running more tests), the exterminator (who surely had no idea how dangerous this was), as well as their insurance companies?
Also, is there really a problem that needs "fixing" or was this an isolated case, given that it had never happened before, nor since?
