even the queen's coin gets blurred
A local Hatzolah (ie not Ichud Hatzalah from Israel) fundraising campaign in London featured the following flier:
If you will pay attention you will see that they blurred the queen's face in the image of the coins... that's both pretty funny and pretty messed up! Or maybe she was a patient treated by Hatzolah and they blurred her face to protect her identity and privacy!

The funny part is that there are only 3 coins, and they only blurred out two. Maybe the third is below the שיעור?
ReplyDeletethe face on the third coin is really small and hard to see. maybe they relied on the fact that most people wont see the face so no need to blur it. or maybe they couldnt see it
DeleteThat's not the Queen but Britannia, sort of like Uncle Sam in the US, not a real person.
DeleteLook closely, Britannia has bare arms!
DeleteThe less funny part is that doing this could technically be considered an act of treason under British law... not to mention the kind of public outcry and chilul Hashem this could cause if the British general public caught wind of it (which they probably will if it's out on the Web).
ReplyDeleteis blurring a face really an act of treason? I dont know anything about british law. in the USA defacing currency is a federal crime, but defacing a picture of currency is not
