Better late than never
I barely looked at the news last week but I did see that PM Benjamin Netanyahu finally went to Nir Oz to pay a visit to the decimated community.
I dont know why now and not earlier, I dont know what he said while there (though I saw he met with some freed hostages and family members of still-held hostages), but it is good he finally went to visit the community.
Better late than never.
I think the people who stood outside and screamed insults at him were wrong (though well within their rights) for doing so - they screamed for the past nearly two years at him for not coming to visit the community and now that he finally went they scream at him for not having come earlier.
Of course he was wrong for not going earlier, but he finally went and that is a good and important move, maybe even towards some reconciliation.

ReplyDeleteIf Bibi would've randomly visited Nir Oz before the war started, there would've been a crowd there to scream at him and insult in. All the more so after the war started and the Left immediately blamed him. So why would he rush there?
because he is the Prime Minister and a community in the country he leads experienced a horrible attack

DeleteWell, he and Sara met the mother of Matan Zangauker, who's been one of his biggest critics, and she reported that it was a very nice meeting and they're fine people who care.
