not afraid of an alligator
This morning's news was highlighted with a wonderful tidbit about some fellow in the Ramat Gan Safari. This shmegegie got out of his car and jumped the barrier and entered the alligator enclosure. I am not quite sure why - in the attached video it sounds like he is saying he wants to free to alligator, but I am not sure I am hearing it correctly. The viewer can see the interloper taunting the stoic alligator with screams, gesticulating hands and kicking dirt in its direction.

Unfortunately, this idiocy, and "Darwin Award Quality Behavior", was wasted and we did not get to see the alligator jump him and have lunch.
I suspect the alligator must only eat healthy foods and considered this shmegegie unstable and therefore perhaps unhealthy eating. Or else it just had some mercy on the mentally deficient.
After this video came to light, the Safari administration was made aware of what happened and informed the police. If the guy isn't afraid of an alligator I am not sure he's afraid of the police, though the police might actually be more dangerous...

keep your stupidity to yourself
There is some new trend on Tik Tok. Arab kids video themselves attacking Jews in some way and running off. There have been a couple of Tik Tok clips of Arabs slapping Haredi Jews on public transportation, some elsewhere, some with the Arabs knocking the black hat off and running away...
Some of these have been reported to the police with a couple of arrests made.
There are a lot of stupid video trends on Tik Tok. As long as they are harmless, or at least harmless to everyone else besides for the person doing it, I don't care. People can be as stupid as they want to be. Hurting other people is not right though. Eat your own Tide Pod or run alongside a moving vehicle and jump in or out or whatever, you are only hurting yourself. Keep your stupidity to yourself and don't hurt other people for your video likes.

the pogroms of the good old days
It turns out as Jews - as human beings but especially as Jews - we must express our gratitude.
So here goes.
Thank you, Kielce. Thank you, Odessa. Thank you, Kiev and Lwow. Thank you Kishinev. Thank you to the Crusaders. Thank you, Adolph Hitler, may God blot out your name, but thank you. Thank you oh fine people of Bialystock and Gomel. Thank you Ferdinand and Isabella. And thank you to so many more kind people and communities of the world, and especially Europe, who were kind enough over the past couple thousand years to enact pogroms against the Jewish people!
According to a member of the Polish Parliament, Janusz Korwin-Mikke, pogroms are good and the Jews benefited form them. It is a form of natural selection and the pogroms throughout history took the weak and made the Jewish people stronger.
source: JPost
I must add, thank you Janusz. Thank you Poland.
Poland wants to deny its involvement in the Holocaust and portray itself as just another victim of the Germans (which it also was), yet members of the Polish government also think pogroms were good for the Jews.
Korwin-Mikke was trying to make a point about Corona virus being useful as a form of natural selection and getting rid of the weak, thus making humans stronger. He compared that to the history of pogroms against the Jewish people.
Thank you.
Ah, those were the days. We really had it good back then. Nowadays, with hardly any pogroms any more, we are just weak. Weak, weak weak.

Livni's stupid comment on Matzav Hauma
I've appreciated politicians previously appearing on comedy shows like Matzav Hauma (State of the Nation) or others and having a good laugh.
The difference between Tzippi Livni's appearance this past Motzei Shabbos on Matzav HaUma and appearances by other politicians in the past (that I have seen or am aware of), is that the other politicians I have seen all have a good laugh and poke fun at themselves and their own party (mostly). Livni spent her time poking fun at, and bad mouthing, other politicians and not herself.
It was distasteful, to say the least, but I don't think it was horrible. It is election season, and while she spoke with a potty-mouth, the setting was one that almost allowed such behavior. Some might see her as not-statesman-like now, but that's the risk she took. It really did not bother me as much as some of the reactions I saw from politicians.
The one point that I think should hurt her is nothing she said against Bibi or Bennet, though it probably will, but something else she said. She called the Palestinians idiots.
With her having been chief of negotiations, she was in a position to know exactly what was going on. If her idea of diplomacy is to call the Palestinians idiots for not yet making peace on her terms, and then expect them to sit with her in good faith at a future date, she's got another think coming. I'd be surprised if this specific statement she made does not come back to haunt her at some point in the future, sooner or later.

Adler Apologizes For Suggesting Israel Assassinate President Obama
I was shocked to read about the latest idiocy. The Atlanta Jewish Times ran an opinion piece written by the owner/editor Andrew Adler, in which he suggested a number of options for how Israel should deal with the threats of Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas. One of the suggestions he mentioned was to assassinate Barak Obama.
The article is not available on the newspapers website, but it has been scanned and made available by the Gawker.
This obviously caused a ruckus. Adler has since apologized claiming he was just wondering what his readers reactions would be like, but he was not really recommending the assassination of the president.
Sometimes I wonder just how stupid a person can be.

The Hitler House Rocks Twitter
This is just absolutely ridiculous. Somebody passed by a house and thought the exterior design of the house, the location of the windows, the shape of the roof, the doorway, etc. all resembled the face of Hitler. The person snapped a picture and then placed the image next to a face shot of Adolph Hitler, yemach sh'mo, and posted it to twitter. Jimmy Carr noticed the tweet and passed it on, and form there it went viral.
The Telegraph has the story along with imagess of other "Hitler lookalikes":
![]() |
| What do you think? Are people out of their minds? It looks more like the pizza delivery guy if you ask me! |
Hundreds of thousands of people have viewed or shared the link to a photograph of the house after it was published on Twitter, the social networking site.
The slanted roof was said to resemble the Hitler fringe, the door lintel was the moustache and the small top windows were seen as the dictator’s piercing eyes.
The joke took off when it was tweeted by Jimmy Carr, the comedian, but the owner of the house in Port Tenant, Swansea, a man in his 70s, said he had never even heard of Twitter.
The tweet was first posted by Charli Dickenson, 22, a youth worker, who spotted the bizarre similarity as she drove past.
“I walk past the house all the time, but I had never noticed the Hitler likeness before,” said Miss Dickenson. “But then, at the weekend, I was in the car with my boyfriend and we were stuck in traffic and I just said to him, 'That house looks like Hitler.’ We both laughed. I took a picture and posted it on Twitter.
“It was picked up by Jimmy Carr. Now everyone is talking about it!”
A neighbour, Lyn Thomas, 25, said: “I can see a resemblance now. I’ve lived here for two years but have never noticed anything before. I don’t know why it would be designed in such a way. It is uncanny.”
Another neighbour said: “People are joking that the house is the third on the Reich and that we live on the Western Front. You have to see the funny side of life sometimes.”

Bison mauls tourist in Yellowstone Park (video)
With summer vacation here, and people taking their trips to national parks, zoos and whatnot, it is worth a reminder to pay attention to the rules. They are not there to hamper your enjoyment, but are for your safety.
Here is a good example of what happens when you don't follow instructions..
This couple was mauled by a bison the other day in Yellowstone Park.
and here is an interview with them after the fact:

The Third Reich and Hitler have defeated YouTube
After he served as a mouthpiece for every possible grievance and complaint, Hitler is now leaving YouTube, and ranting about it.Oh well. I hated that clip, in all its variations, anyway. I thought they were all stupid.
The German film Der Untergang (Downfall), in which Adolf Hitler is seen going off on a tirade against betrayal, has lent itself to hundreds of online parodies where Hitler expresses severe anger over anything from parking spaces to the iPad.
However the company that made the 2004 movie, Constantin Films, has set out to put a stop to the countless parodies and have demanded that YouTube remove the films, citing copyright infringement.

Avoda Zara

The picture is of the store front window of the chain clothing store Zara from a mall north of Haifa.
If you look at the picture, you might notice that they have "Merry Christmas" splayed across the window, along with the display consisting of Christmas holiday colors and Christmas trees.
The only problem with this situation is that the store, as mentioned, is located in Israel. Not in Spain where the main headquarters is, not in Europe or the USA, not in a Christian country, but in predominantly Jewish Israel.
It is a shonda that a store in Israel has such a display. Even if there excuse is true, that they are dictated by the main office in Spain what to display (and all stores have uniform displays), it makes no sense that they would not adjust the display to the local market. Even if they insisted in Christmas trees for the non-Jewish market in Israel, they are foolish for not catering to the much larger Jewish market and putting in symbols of Hannukah, like menorahs and dreidels.
It makes no sense, and was likely done without thought. But after the first few hundred calls of customers complaining about it, they should have removed the display right away.
I hope people "punish" Zara for the stupidity, and for their insistence on remaining stupid instead of taking it down right away after the first few calls, and shop elsewhere.
What kind of excuse is "We wanted to allow our customers to enjoy.. the atmosphere of the holiday and the internationality..." anyway?

Self-Circumcised
Let this be a lesson - always use a certified mohel. Well, either that or use something a bit better than a nail clipper....or don't try this at home......
The young man had to be rushed to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The wound was disinfected to cleanse it before he was given a bed in an observation ward.
"This is something we would advise men never to attempt," a medic said, "The results can be quite horrific and long-lasting and have quite an affect on a man's sexual performance.
"Using a pair of nail clippers must have caused excruciating pain, even if he had had a few drinks beforehand."

The newest kosher item on the market
Thought you have seen it all with bleach that is certified kosher? dish-washing detergent? kosher laundry detergent? Perhaps it was the kosher garbage bags that struck your fancy?
We just received our phone book for the new year.... and sure enough, now we have kosher phone books!
(see the lower section of the cover.... for the enlarged certification, see the following image)
certified by the "Spiritual Committee for Book Inspection".
Good thing we have this certification- we know all the racy ads that can be found in a phone book!

Should America adopt the Rabinfest holiday?
I love Letters to the Editor. They always provide one of two sorts of satisfaction:

There are just so many things wrong with this letter, and I think it belittles it to even start pointing them out. I think I prefer to let it stand on its own in and stew in the ignorance and imbecility of the author.
- they provide insight in the way the regular person thinks, providing new thoughts and ways at looking at things.
- they can be downright funny.

Allah in a mango
While these types of stories generally happen with Christians finding images of either Jesus or Mary in various items, such as grilled cheese sandwiches or oil spills, it has now happened with Allah and a mango.
This has led me to wonder what such a story would be like for a Jew. Whose name would we find in our kishke or potato kugel? What image would we spot in our latke oil?
Would we find Moshe Rabbeinu's image? How would we know it was him - would it look like Charlton Heston? Would we find Theodore Herzl, Vlad Jabotinsky, David Ben-Gurion or Menachem Begin peeking out from our cholent bowl? Perhaps the Rambam, the Ramchal or the Chofetz Chaim would be spotted in the shabbos candle wax?
I don't know - it just does not seem as impressive as Allah in a mango or Jesus in a grilled cheese sandwich...

Only in Israel! top secret missile system
A soldier by Bakum (the IDF inductee center) noticed a car parked in the lot with a "For Sale" sign. He went over to look at it, and while peering through the windows, he noticed a [burned] cd on the seat with the title "Jericho 4 - Nucelar - Improved".
The soldier freaked out and called the Ministry of Defense thinking that possibly somebody had stolen data about some new missile system.
The MOD contacted the owner and confiscated the disk. After examining it, they found it was just a disk of burned music.
Why somebody would title a disk of music after the name of a [top-secret?] missile system - I have no idea. But this story cracks me up!

horrible judgement
Check this out.
A 22 year old yeshiva student was late for his plane. When he got there they already closed the terminal and would not let him on. He said, in an attempt to convince them to let him on, that his brothers funeral was the next day and he had to be on the flight (the article does not say if this was true or not).
The employee did not let him on, so he went to a phone and called in a bomb threat.
He was sentenced to pay a $1,000 fine, wear an electronic monitoring bracelet while confined to his home for six months and perform 200 hours of community service.
Talk about stupid.
