pashkevil about crossing the street

Now THIS is a great pashkevil on the walls of RBS B (as reported by Behadrei - personally, ever since they built the new road circumventing B I have almost never had a reason to drive through B)...

It seems that at a certain interaction in RBS B the police have responded to a deadly accident about half a year ago by stationing police officers, both men and women, to assist children in crossing the street on their way to school. The intersection is near some schools, so they have been stationed there at the beginning and end of the day.

Some people do not appreciate the police presence, even though they are there to guarantee the safety of the children crossing the busy road. To that end, instead of setting up their own crossing guard system with adults or older kids helping the kids cross safely and then telling the police their presence is no longer necessary they tackled the issue by putting up a pashkevil.

The pashkevil warns of the danger with the police talking to the kids as they cross and exposing them to dangers, in addition to the policemen using their phones and exposing the kids to horrible things. Additionally, it is claimed that they have received testimony of a policeman doing horrible acts that cannot even be written - I dont know if the officer masturbated in public or abused a kid or displayed pornography on his phone to all the kids or whatnot but it sounds pretty bad.

The pashkevil then calls for parents to instruct the children to not cross at that intersection and thusly avoid the police.

Maybe the police should not be talking to the kids but kids are curious and ask questions and the police have no reason to not respond. I highly doubt the police are initiating conversation. Anyways, it seems to me that the people concerned about this should arrange a crossing guard system form within the community, as mentioned above, and take the safety of their children into their own hands, making the police presence unnecessary.

Or, you know, they're making it all up.

    1. I wonder if Rabbi Dr. M.K. is up to his old pre-purim fake pashkevil pranks.
