standing up in RBS B
This is the latest pashkevil to be found in RBS B. People are continuing to say that they will no longer allow the hooligans to act like they run the city and decide who can walk where, when and how.
If the police and the mayor will not stand up to them, at least the neighbors and the neighboring community most affected by them are standing up to them.
In the words of one of the local people in the group who will no longer "take it", this is what happened on Friday night"

Friday night was interesting. There were about 100-150 of us out on Herzog opposite Friedman's apt building. Mostly it was teens mobilized to take some action to stand up to the brutes. There were many adults, mishmar ezrachi, and undercover cops. Oh and several dogs. (The chareidim are scared of dogs.) We also had some adult couples walking up and down through Bet. Needless to say things were quiet as the terrorists are basically cowards and would never confront such a large group.
At one point Moshe Friedman showed up with a couple of guys. One person approached him. Friedman was shocked that all these people were there. The guy basically told him that this was all his fault. If they would just leave us alone things would go back to normal. If not, this very well could become the de-facto hang out spot for the local teens.

This is an explosive situation. Is it going to take someone getting killed r"l before the police do something?
ReplyDeleteand even if that happens... will the police even do anything then???

Any thoughts on the "unity" Avos u'banim at Ahavat Zion tonight? Where were the rabbanim? Why were so few of RBS represented? What will it take to get us together?
ReplyDeleteI was not bale to be there, but I heard there were 350 people there. what do you mean rbs was not represented? All the shuls in the list were rbs shuls.
ReplyDeleteI know my shuls avos ubanim met there, and not in our own shul. Our rav strongly recommended people go to it.
There were 13 shuls on the sponsor list. There were maybe 5 rabbanim. There were strong showings from Aish Kodesh, Ahavat Tzion, Menoras HaMaor, Bais Tefila, and Ohr HaShalom. Where were the more native Israeli kehilot? More chareidi kehilot?
ReplyDeleteWhen are the residenst of RBSA going to stand up to the "brutes" and kanoim here??
ReplyDeleteIt is bad enough we have to tolerate the likes of Perlstein and Kornfeld but to honor them?
I saw a poster in my shul about an achdut gathering next Motz''sh.
And who is the guest speaker?
Perlstein, a man who has done more than anyone to divide and polarize this city.
Someone somewhere is smoking something.
anonymous- as Rabbi Malinowitz said in his drasha on shabbos (all the rabbonim were asked to plug the importance of the upcoming melave malka), that this event is intended to foster unity and engender an atmosphere of the community working together. How careful we must be to not begin with lashon hara and divisiveness against an event that is meant to bring us together.
ReplyDeleteNot to defend Rabb Perlstein or anything he has done in the past, but the past 2 years or so he has been extremely quiet and I dont remember him taking a stand publicly on anything in the neighborhood. Perhaps he should no longer be considered an issue.
