The Top Secret Mission Everybody Knows About

The tzedaka called "Vaad HaRabbonim" has beaten, in my opinion, all the competing tzedaka organizations in their pre-Purim marketing campaign.

Vaad HaRabbonim is sending, in a top secret mission, into Iran, despite the sanctions, a clandestine team of people who will daven for all the people who donate to the cause, beside the graves of Mordechai and Esther.

1. With the massive advertising they did, I am not sure how they call it a top secret mission. I hope the Iranians dont find out about it.

2. I guess they will be keeping Shushan Purim, considering they will be in Shushan. So, do they have to daven on the graves on Sunday or Monday?

    Massive Advertising?

I didn't think that you could have more massive than the Red, White and Blue campaign here.

I'm so happy to see tzedaka money going to such a good cause!

  3. This astoundingly absurd campaign may be the doing of the vaadharabonim's Director of Development Joel (Yoeli) Bochner (http://www.vaadharabbanim.com/about-us/our-staff-39/).

He was outed promoting the Areivim Kul Yisroel life insurance scam by Rabbi Yakov Horowitz in May 2010 (http://www.vosizneias.com/55794/2010/05/17/new-york-rabbi-horowitz-analyzes-the-arevim-life-insurance-program/).

He moved on to promoting the defense of convicted incestuous rapist, Yisroel Moshe Weingarten (Israel Weingarten) in 2011 when he arranged for Neturei Karta propagandist, Hillel Handler to appear on the Zev Brenner show in 2011.

Now I suspect he is behind this absurd ad.

The good news is that he is probably lying about there actually being folks going to Shushan. Alternatively, he may be deploying the half dozen Jews who are completely welcome in Teheran, the Neturei Karta oiysvorfs who gave Ahmedinejad their heimish hug at the holocaust denail contest. But frankly, that is probably too extreme for even a fraudster like Bochner.

The real question is why did American Hamodia accept a full page ad for this absurd venture which appeared on Wednesday March 9, page 20.

  6. Sponsors or not this display of the Kupa is a bizbuz kesef.

It is also a waste of manpower that can be used to actually help poor people not just the organization that claims to help them.

To me it is obvious that they have an endless supply of money and time and both my time and money would be better spent elsewhere.

  7. Seems like a Purim joke to me.

  8. tens of thousands of shekel for balloons and posters and more posters and then more posters and big wooden things and streamers and then things to hold the streamers and booklets to explain why they spend so much instead of feeding poor people isn't a joke

we know that people are going to give to them anyway so why waste so much money?

they could have done a cute Purim shtik to get the message across for considerably less

I still can't believe that people buy the 100% bit
