Quote Of The Day

Quote Of The Day

To my great distress, manifestations of fanaticism have arisen among us. A criminal fanatic, wearing a kippa, violated one of the fundamental commandments of Judaism "Thou Shalt Not Kill". he murdered. he murdered a prime minister who was beloved among the people. The mark of Cain will never be removed from his forehead. I never told over my feelings after those three horrible shots. Even today I will only say that working together with Yitzchak and the impossible separation from him have left me a tearful person, missing him and believing in him until today.

-- President Shimon Peres, at a meeting of "Rabin's government" to commemorate 20 years since the formation of Rabin's government.

  1. "Beloved among the people?" Not by too many of them, at least not while he was alive.

  2. It's pretty well known that Peres and Rabin were great rivals and had strong distrust and animosity towards one another. His crocodile tears convince nobody...

    1. Yes, I know that this blog is managed by an אדם יראת שמים and yes, I know the origin of the phrase, but "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" sprang immediately to mind when I read your spiteful comment.

  3. How dare he??? Someone should ask him what part he played in the murder of Rabin, and why he decided to pin the blame on some kippa-wearing crazy person who would have liked to have done the deed.
