Mekubalim Aren't All-Powerful
I guess these mekubalim who held a special secret prayer service for the successful election of Mitt Romney didn't do such a good job... or maybe Mitt Romney just was so problematic himself that even the mekubalim couldn't help him!!

Maybe there was a group of more powerful mekubalim praying for Obama. One which could keep a secret prayer service, I dunno, secret.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't the mekubal's fault. Romney forgot to donate to Kupat Ha'ir....
ReplyDeleteAside from it being patently absurd, wouldn't this almost qualify as a tefilat shav? After all, by the time this "secret prayer" was held, everyone had pretty much decided who they were going to vote for. (Though I guess one could daven for millions of people to be "possessed" and mark the wrong candidate. That was probably it.)
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, looking at the election results Obama lost a votes from 2008, many of the races were also won in his favor by less than 1% of the population. I would keep an eye out over the next decade to look back and say, "Wow, if the Republicans won the whitehouse in 2012, this never would have happened."
