Archaeologists in Egypt just discovered, unearthed, a 3000+ year old city, near Luxor, that they are calling the Golden City of Luxor.

The correct phrase is actually, "if you build it, he will come" - he, not they.

this was what the voice told Ray Kinsella, played by Kevin Costner, about building a baseball diamond in the movie Field of Dreams. After he built the field, Shoeless Joe Jackson, the "he" that was referred to by the voice to Kinsella, and other dead baseball players came to play ball.

It seems Egyptian President Abdel El-Sisi wants things to work the other way around.

El-Sisi said that if the Jews decide to return to Egypt and rebuild the Jewish community there, the government would build them the synagogues and other community buildings.

El-Sisi actually spoke positively of the rich Jewish past in Egypt and expressed his hope that the Jews would return.

I don't know how far back El-Sisi referred to when he referred to the rich past of the Jewish people in Egypt. Was he only referring to the Jewish community that was there prior to the formation of the Stat of Israel? Was he referring also to the Jews in Egypt a few thousand years ago that were a hard working people who were instrumental in building the infrastructure of Egypt and did not demand exorbitant wages?

I am pretty sure that the Jewish community will not be returning, at least not in large numbers, to Egypt... I can't know for sure - I mean, now there is even a nice sized Jewish community in Berlin and also communities in other cities in Germany...

Well, if the Jews move back to Egypt, the government will build them their synagogues... I guess that is somewhat tempting..

Did a foreign Pharoah give Egypt a bad name?

That's what the director of the Antiquities Authority of Egypt is claiming.

Dr. Mustafa Waziri is claiming that the king named {haroah in the Bible was a ruler over parts of Egypt, but he himself was not actually Egyptian. Rather, according to Waziri, Pharoah was from a nomadic tribe known as Hyksos. The Hyksos tribe meandered into Egypt at some point and even ruled the country for a few hundred years.

Waziri further claims, against accepted knowledge in the archaeological community, that the word "Pharoah" is NOT the generic title of the king of Egypt. Rather, Waziri claims, Pharoah was the name of this specific ruler. Waziri says the claim of Phaorah being the title of King of Egypt is an urban legend started by the Jews with intent to lay false blame on the Egyptian people for their enslavement.

Waziri points to the Koran as proof for his claims. He points to the fact that the title Pharoah is never used in the Koran in reference to the ruler of Egypt. As well, Moshe talks to Pharoah and addresses him as "Pharoah" and not as "Honorable Pharoah" as would be necessary if that were the kings title.

In a new story that is as old as the Talmud, an Egyptian journalist wants to sue Israel for the Ten Plagues.

Ahmed Al-Gamal, an Egyptian journalist, has called upon the Egyptian government to sue the State of Israel for the Ten Plagues.

Al-Gamal says that our ancestors were hit with the Ten Plagues as a result of the curses of the ancestors of the Jews. Our ancestors did not need to suffer for the mistakes of the ruler of Egypt at the time, whom the Torah calls Pharoah. The Torah proves it was Pharoah who afflicted the Jews, and not the Egyptians. Yet they then brought upon us the plague of locusts that destroyed Egyptian agriculture, blood that turned the Nile to blood and nobody could drink for a long time, darkness that turned days to nights, frogs and a plague that killed firstborn sons..

Al-Gamal also says that for 40 years as the Jews traveled through the desert, they benefited from Egyptian products they had stolen on their way out. He specifically mentioned the gold, silver, copper, valuable gems, materials, leathers, wooden beams, wool, animals in order to build their Temple in the desert and to serve their religion. Desert nomads could not have owned such possessions and they must have been stolen from Egypt (I guess he does not know the midrash about the Jews being given the wealth on their way out after having found it all during the plague of darkness).

Al-Gamal also wants Egypt to sue the French for Napolean's invasion of Egypt, the British for their colonialism, and Turkey for when they conquered Egypt during the time of the Ottoman rule.

There is no end to the list of animals recruited by the evil Zionists to spy on and harm Muslims in various countries. At least in the minds of the Muslims.. Whether it is seals, sharks, little birds, or the latest claim that Israel has employed a stork to spy on its behalf.

According to the Daily Mail of Britain, someone in Qena, Egypt, about 450 miles south of Cairo, claimed to find a stork that is a spy for Israel. The stork had been detained until the investigation will be concluded. It seems the stork had some sort of advanced chip on it, but the head of security of Qena said that the chip had been determined to not be carrying any explosives or spy capabilities, but seemed to be a tracking tag.

Supposedly this is an Egyptian customer support manager going ballistic about the customers he sends technicians to support. There is a translation to Hebrew of what he is saying, and it is hilarious.

I have no idea if it is a true translation or if it is a spoof and someone just wrote a translation to Hebrew to be funny (my suspicion) but that's not really what he is so upset about - the main giveaway for me was that he speaks about sending a technician to Netanya - why would an Egyptian customer service send support to a customer in Netanya? Either way it is funny.

This video put out by the Temple Institute has been online for just a few days and already has nearly 200,000 views. That is viral, at least by Jewish content standards..




Pretty good video content, awesomely filmed and set, in my opinion.

The Egyptians, though, of all people, think otherwise.

I had expected to possibly hear some protest from the Palestinians, and maybe even from the Jordanians. But the Egyptians?

According to this report on NRG, the new president of Egypt, Mohammed Morsi, is upset and the video and considers it a provocation. In the newspaper held by the adult, and dropped near the end of the clip, bears the image of Morsi. Morsi claims that the message transmitted is that Israel plans to build the Temple to the indignation of Morsi. Morsi has instructed the Egyptian Foreign Ministry to prepare a response.

Talk about overly sensitive.

Anyway, since this video was not put out by the Israeli government, he should really just be ignoring it. Nothing the Temple Institute says or does, no matter how much I like them and the work they do, is binding on the Israeli government nor is it representative of the Israeli government. one can appreciate the content, one can enjoy the content, one can dislike the content, but at the end of the day it should not be the cause of a diplomatic incident.

Did you know tomatoes are Christians? I wonder what is considered a Hindu vegetable, or a Buddhist one.. What about Jewish - which veggie is a Jewish vegetable? And what about Muslim? In yet another very timely archaeological discovery, an Egyptian signet ring was unearthed in Jerusalem. The ring bears the name, in hieroglyphics, of the Egyptian god Amun-Ra.

This ring too was discovered in Ir David and it has been dated to the 13th century bc., about when the Jews left Egypt.
