spies
This spy situation is insane. It feels like every day they are finding more people in Israel spying for Iran.
I hope they all get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No going easy on these people.

The cadre of Zionist agents from the animal kingdom grows further
Remember all those Zionist animals working for the Mossad as spies in foreign countries?
I remember there being a shark, a seal, an eagle and a kestrel.
I dont remember if there were others along the way, but the cadre of top secret spies trained to collect information by sea, land and air has grown with the newest recruit.
According to the JPost, Hamas is claiming that a Zionist dolphin was used by Israeli forces to chase Hamas frogmen off the coast of Gaza. This Zionist dolphin was not just collecting information, and don't think "chasing them" was a figment of their imagination - this Israeli employed and trained dolphin was brandishing a weapon and was seeking to kill these frogmen.
I did a tiny bit of research and discovered that dolphins do actually eat frogs (should they ever cross paths), as they are carnivorous, so this accusation and claim is actually completely reasonable. The dolphin was trying to kill the frogmen so it could have lunch, and then would also bring back the secrets to its Israeli Mossad handlers. I assume the information was just going to be an added bonus.

Our Vulture in Beirut back home!
In a stunning display of diplomatic prowess, Israel has successfully freed Our Vulture in Beirut.
I am sure there is more than meets the eye, but the BBC is reporting that the Zionist vulture spy has been returned to Israel via the United Nations forces.
The vulture was a bit worn down and was treated for minor injuries. It seems that the Lebanese spared no efforts to extract information from this agent.
While we got our vulture back, it is a shame we could not include any of the other MIA Israelis as part of the deal, or at least information about them. I also wonder what we had to give up to get this agent back...

free Our Vulture in Beirut
Israel keeps using eagles, vultures actually, as spies.
It seems humanity has found another way, besides for automated machines and robots, to replace humans.
Unfortunately, Lebanon has caught this Israeli spy vulture, just as it did a previous Zionist eagle/vulture spy.
Either the vulture spies are not very good at their job, or we are only hearing about the failures, while maybe there are a dozen or more vulture spies still out there - perhaps dressed as Lebanese vultures, or maybe posing as parakeets or mountain goats..
No country should ever leave its agents out in the cold like that. I hope Israel makes a deal to get our vulture in Beirut back, or run a complex operation to free him and bring him back.

spying on Israel
Does anybody really not already think that each and every significantly sized country, and probably many less significantly sized countries, are spying on each other?
Does anybody really believe that the US has not already been spying on Israel for years, along with most other countries?
This outrage at the discovery of the USA spying on other countries, including Israel, is a bit funny.
The good thing that might come out of it is that the US might "have" to release Pollard because of it. It's a bit disingenuous of them to be outraged at Jonathan Pollard nearly 30 years later when they are caught with their pants down spying on Israel... Just for public relations, to mute the protests and to assuage and massage some frayed diplomatic nerves they might have to release Jonathan Pollard.

Zionist Eagle caught in Lebanon on spy mission!
Lebanon is good at catching spies. And it seems Israel is not so good at keeping its spies undercover and secret.
Another Israeli spy was caught in Lebanon.
A Zionist Eagle was caught spying in Lebanon. They caught the eagle in the act and based on its tags, which state that it is from Tel Aviv University, they were able to make a positive identification.
It is amazing that Israel sends spies into the field with tags that say where they came from. They should really learn the art of subterfuge better and put a different countries name on the tags...
I wait for the public trial in a town square, and wonder what its sentence will be.

The dramatic ending to a Zionist spy
The Zionist Stork captured last week in Egypt was determined to be not guilty of spying for the Zionists, but the initial reports said that it was unclear what had happened to the stork.
After a nationwide manhunt, or storkhunt actually, with its picture posted on milk cartons all over Egypt, the trail of storksteps has finally been picked up on, seemingly by a Bedouin tracker. It seems that after the stork "was released into a conservation area in southern Egypt but flew to an island in the Nile where it was caught and eaten." (INN)
I wonder if Zionist storks taste any different than Egyptian storks...
Thus ends the dramatic story of another Zionist animal spy.

Zionist Stork Spy Detained in Egypt
There is no end to the list of animals recruited by the evil Zionists to spy on and harm Muslims in various countries. At least in the minds of the Muslims.. Whether it is seals, sharks, little birds, or the latest claim that Israel has employed a stork to spy on its behalf.
According to the Daily Mail of Britain, someone in Qena, Egypt, about 450 miles south of Cairo, claimed to find a stork that is a spy for Israel. The stork had been detained until the investigation will be concluded. It seems the stork had some sort of advanced chip on it, but the head of security of Qena said that the chip had been determined to not be carrying any explosives or spy capabilities, but seemed to be a tracking tag.
(source: Ynet)
There has been no word as to whether the innocent bird has been released or executed or if it still in jail..

The spy who really knew nothing
One of the commenters on this blog was wrong recently, and I must call him out.
About two weeks ago it became known that a member of the Neturei Karta had tried to become a spy for Iran. I questioned what sort of secrets he had to offer them and expressed no surprise that the Iranians had rejected his offer. A commenter joked that he could have told them where to buy good kugel yerushalmi.
Today we have confirmation that commenter Cosmic X was wrong. I feel bad calling out a commenter, but I feel I must.
Mynet wrote about the story and spoke to fellow members of the Neturei Karta and people who know him. They basically deny that he had anything to do with them - they hardly saw him. They also dismissed the possibility that he would have been a spy and that they knew nothing about his trips to Berlin. They said, and I quote in translated English, "and if he traveled to Berlin, so what? What information could he have told them? He did not even know information about kugel for Shabbos and would not have been able to give that over to them. We are talking about a person who had no knowledge about anything."
There you have it. he could not have even told the Iranians where to get a good piece of Kugel Yerushalmi.

The Iranian spy in Israel with no information to offer
It was just revealed today that someone from the Neturei Karta had made an offer to Iran to spy on Israel on Iran's behalf. He even offered to kill a Zionist.
Shocking.
Wait - did anybody really think that on all those trips to Iran they were not already giving over whatever information they knew about Israel to the Iranians?
And, I wonder what the Iranians said in response - did they say we won't pay you a penny because you do not know anything of any value anyway?
Shocking.

bird cleared of spying for Israel in Turkey
Zionist sharks, Zionist seals, Zionist eagles.. the Arabs regularly seem to think that Israel has mobilized the animal kingdom to work on its behalf. Now they caught a Kestrel they suspected of being a Zionist spy.
A Kestrel is a type of bird from the Falcon family.
This small kestrel flew into Turkish airspace and was picked up by enraged Turks. They suspected it of being an Israeli spy because it was tagged with a metal band with the words "24311 Tel Avivunia Israel". The bird was immediately arrested.
According to some Turkish newspaper, authorities conducted x-rays to determine if the bird was carrying any secret microchips. After no microchips were discovered, the bird was cleared of any crime and was set free.

Turkish authorities have cleared a renegade bird captured in the Ağın district of the eastern province of Elazığ of suspicions of working for Israel's state-of-the-art intelligence agency. The big question is if they are going to try to start convincing all sorts of animals to avoid Israel as part of the BDS movement.
Residents of Altınavya village became suspicious that the little kestrel could be more than a bird that lost its way when they found it wore a metallic ring stamped with the words "24311 Tel Avivunia Israel," and delivered it to the district governorate.
Local authorities submitted the bird to careful medical examinations to ensure that it did not carry microchips. An X-ray test carried out at Fırat University in Elazığ finally convinced the authorities that the bird was just a simple specimen of Israeli wildlife. However, the X-ray showed the initial degree of suspicion, as the bird had been registered under the name "Israeli spy" by medical personnel.
Tagging birds is a common practice in ornithology as it helps scientists track bird migration routes.
Following the tests, the authorities decided not to press official charges and the falsely accused bird was free to fly away.

Accused Israeli Spy In Egypt Ilan Grapel
- this is a very strange story, and I do not really understand what is going on, and how this accusation happened or what it is based on.
- I wrote Ilan Grapel, but his name was reported in a number of different ways and versions. I think "Ilan Grapel" is the final version.
- The Israeli press is blurring his face. Today, in the Internet age, it is kind of ridiculous to have such restrictions, as his face is revealed everywhere else...

The scandal that is rocking the country
The scandal that is rocking the country...
What a shame that the newspaper involved in stealing secret material from the IDF is Haaretz. Haaretz is the most professional and intellectual Israeli newspaper. Now we know why they were the most up to date with top notch military information, always hiding behind anonymous sources in the IDF.
On the one hand, at least Anat Kam was not giving over these sensitive documents to other countries, like what Mordechai Vanunu did. She was giving them over in Israel for publication in Israel. I don't know her motivation - maybe she really believed that this was information the public needed to know.
On the other hand, it doesnt really matter why she did it, she betrayed her position and the trust that had been placed in her, and she made accessible documents and information that should not have been.
She should rot in jail for a long time. And the directors of Haaretz should as well for their part in it. They should have known better.

spies caught!
The big news today is that Iran has announced they have captured spies. the spies were targeting the nuclear reactor. Also, this is no the first time they have caught a series of spies spying on their reactor - last year as well they arrested spies.
The funny thing is that the most recent arrests were made against two pigeons. Last years spies were 14 squirrels.
I wonder if they have been able to torture any information out of them. Will they carry out hangings in the public square in the middle of Tehran to dissuade future spies?
I can't believe this is who we are afraid of.

In memory of a great Jew (video)
Today, 43 years ago, a Jewish hero was killed. Eli Cohen, the Israeli spy who infiltrated into the highest ranks, the upper echelons, of Syrian politics, was captured and sentenced to death. On May 18 1965, he was hanged in public. His bones have yet to be returned to Israel.
Cohen, due to the information he transferred to Israel, is credited with being largely responsible for the great victory on the Syrian front in the 1967 war.
Yehi Zichro Baruch, His memory should be a blessing.

Haredi support for Pollard
When Jonathan Pollard was first arrested and for a number of years after, the opinions on him in the Jewish community were very divisive. Many were coming out in support of Pollard, rallying for him and signing petitions.
Many were against petitioning the US government to release Pollard. After all, they would say, he took the risk when he committed the crime, honorable as it may have been in our eyes, and was caught. The risk entails a certain price, which he now has to pay. We cannot ruffle any feathers by asking for him to be released. The government is so against releasing him, he must have done something very bad, even worse than what they are saying, etc.
Originally I was a member of the second group. I admit it. I did not want to hear about Pollard. he did the crime, he should pay the time (because he was caught). I remember someone from YU very involved in organizing groups to petition for Pollard came to our shul in Chicago and spoke on his behalf to gain support (and I guess funds). I do not know how well he was received by other people, but I know that I felt he was unconvincing and I did not want to hear any more about it.
Many years went by and I got older. Jonathan Pollard has still been in jail all this time. Over time I have changed my opinion on the Pollard affair.
The way I look at it now is that Pollard has served more than the fair amount of time.
I have read a lot of the info on it - from his side how he got shafted by the judicial system and government after making an agreement, and by the government opinion about how what he did was so reprehensible and definitely the most damaging spy situation in American history. It is clear that we do not know everything about the case and much of it is still kept under wraps.
Aside from the details of the case, what information he stole, what he gave over, how sensitive it was, etc., which we cannot know, the fact is he has sat in jail longer than any other spy in American history who spied for a friendly country. By leaps and bounds. And he has sat much of that time under terrible conditions, such as solitary confinement. The most amount of time any other spy spying for a friendly country sat was something like 7 years, according to a chart I recently saw. I am looking for a list of spies in general to see how long spies for hostile countries sat in jail and see where Pollard is in that list, but have not yet found it.
The point is, he has more than served his fair amount of time. It is time to release Pollard.
Rabbis Elyashiv and Steinman, the heads of the Haredi camp in Israel and of the gedolim, in an unusual move for them (as they generally do not get involved in political issues that have international ramifications) sent a letter this week to US President George Bush honorably requesting he pardon Pollard, after having served already more than 20 years in jail.
This comes on the heals of unusual support from the camps of Agudas Yisrael of America who also recently came out in support of releasing Jonathan Pollard.
Kol Hakavod to them all for coming forward and speaking on behalf of a Jew in trouble who has paid his dues.
May the increasing unity in the Jewish comunity on this issue be pleasantly received in the eyes of Hashem and be a catalyst to gain the release of Jonathan Pollard, Yehonatan ben Malka.
