According to Israel Hayom, the Ministry of Agriculture wants to encourage young people to move up north, to areas of the Golan Heights and the Galilee. To encourage this they are offering tens of dunam of land, free of charge, to be used as farms and zoned to also build a home upon.

To be clear, only the land itself is free. Clearing it and building and all the rest will cost money, but at least the land itself will be free. There will be subsidies and loans for clearing the land and building as well.

The Ministry of trying to reverse the trend of people moving away from their family communities and abandoning farming for the big city with few people joining farming communities and taking up a life of agriculture.

So, go north, my friends, and work the land. If you are young enough to qualify.
