Actually, the most intelligent comment that I ever heard about capturing Bin Laden was made by Jay Leno a few years ago: "How hard can it be to find a 6 foot tall Arab wearing a big turban?"

perhaps he's not saying that he knows where bin laden is now, but that he is confident his preferred policies would, if implemented, succeed in finding bin laden.
al gore received much ridicule for supposedly claiming to have "invented the internet", but in fact he really meant to say he passed the law that funded the original internet research - which was in fact true.
often apparently ridiculous statements by politicians are misquoted or taken way out of context, when what they really said or meant to say was quite reasonable. so quotes like these should generally be taken with a grain of salt.
