Iran beats Israel to it
Hamed Haddadi. A name I never heard before. This is the name of a basketball star from the Iranian national team.
This 7'2" Center from Iran stood out in the Olympics, and has just been signed by an NBA team - the Memphis Grizzlies.
Isn't there a US embargo or something on Iran?
It is surprising that with all of Maccabi Tel Aviv's success playing in the European League and winning championships, that the Iranians beat the Israelis to the race of sending a player to the coveted league of the NBA.
I hope this does not indicate their advancement over us in military capabilities as well...

good luck finding a 7'2'' jew.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if he'll refuse to play on any team which may have an Israeli on it.
ReplyDeleteconsidering the number of Israelis in the NBA (0), that is hardly a problem.
ReplyDeleteAn Israeli, or a Jew for that matter, may join the NBA in the future (it could happen). If it's in the next few years, this guy may still be playing.
