Voting from Israel
--------------------------------------------referral post---------------------------------------------------
I enjoy exercising my right to vote. I vote at every election in which I am eligible to vote, and I even answer surveys whenever possible.
In 18 years in Israel, I have voted in three United States elections for president by absentee ballot. I believe in being part of the process.
The upcoming election seems to one in which every vote will probably count and make a difference. The race is very tight and the candidates are fighting for every vote. It does not really matter for whom you are going to vote, but you should definitely vote for whomever is your preferred candidate.
So, how do you vote? You can't just walk into a booth in your local library or school building and vote, like you did in the US. The process is not really all that difficult. You simply have to apply for an absentee ballot fro the state in which you last resided. Then, shortly before the day of voting, you will get a ballot in the mail which you fill in and mail back.
So how do you register? Thankfully, an organization has arisen whose goal is to make the application process really simple. All they want to do is to get more people to vote and exercise their democratic rights.
They are called Vote From Israel.
Vote From Israel is a non-partisan, nonprofit dedicated to getting Americans in Israel to Vote in the upcoming US elections for President.

To vote from overseas, you MUST be registered. If you aren’t registered, you can’t vote. Period.
Registration ends October 6, 2008 (in a week!!!). That means, especially with Rosh Hashana happening in the middle of this week, you really have to get moving and contact them right away!
So here is what you should do, in six easy steps:
- Go to the website.
- Enter your name.
- Download the PDF form.
- Print it out.
- Fill it out and sign it.
- And the most important part -It must be dropped off at one of the drop-off points around the country by October 6. The site has a list of all the drop off points. If it isn’t dropped off, you can’t vote!

how can you say every vote counts? it depends what state you are from.
ReplyDeletedoes anyone really think that NY will not be a blue state, again, like it always is?
you are right. votes from NY do not count or mean anything.
ReplyDeletethis is, as of now, one of the closest races in history, and many say it is one of the most important in recent times. the rabbonim have called on every person to vote, without saying for whome, because every vote is important. it is vital they see that Jews vote and want our rights and will make demands of our reps.

ReplyDeleteWhat is the logic of countries allowing citizens that have permanently left and taken up citizenship elsewhere, to vote and therefore potentially effect the outcome in a country in which they no longer live?
ReplyDeleteThe logic is the basic American notion of "No taxation, without representation".
ReplyDeleteWherever a US citizen may reside, he is still required to file his annual tax return.
And if he can be taxed, then he can vote.
We seem to have a case of amnesia and forgot Bush stole the 2004 election. 2008 will be the same, but controlled by Karl
ReplyDeleteRove.
Proof w/2 videos:
http://www.brasschecktv.com:80/page/430.html
Vice-Presidential candidate Palin (A friend of Pat Buchanan who is
anti-semitic/anti-black. Karl Rove's choice to fill John McCain's shoes.
John McCain have health problems and not expected to fill his duties as a
president in the first term.)
They've already stolen 2008
Rove has already fixed the 2008 election.
Now, after seeing those 2 videos, can we honestly say every vote counts? The entire process is bogus anyway. And how can we be so gullible to trust them?
More hidden from us who do not want to know: Did you know that America almost became a Nazi country during FDR Administration? Well of course not. We (64/68) did not know either because, that news was hidden from even our generation. And it took a Maverick General Smedley D. Butler to expose the take over plan of the Bush Family etc. The Bush Family had close ties to the top Nazi Adolf Hitler. And they planned to make the U.S. Government a carbon copy of Nazi Germany. How they was going to go about that? Their plan was to overthrow Pres. Franklin Delano Roosevelt government and put in its place a Nazi American government. And patiently please watch this video: http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/263.html
The Bush-Nazi Connection
Hint: Jewish-Americans are entitled to receive compensation from these U.S. non-Jewish elitist families who financed Adolf Hitler.
And we are not boasting about Barack Obama either. Nor should we trust him? Its what we don't know how he is connected/part of the problem. Realize, he is a distant cousin to Pres. Bush and Vice Pres. Cheney. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2007/10/17/all-in-the-family-cheney-and-obama-related/

And remember our greatgrandparents/grandparents (in the 1950's, now at 64/68 remembers)always said,"A chip does not fly too far from the tree." And Miss Polly Parrot said,"Same people, same crowd." LOL
Seriously, we have been gullible and brainwashed for too long already. Lets do better research before supporting any candidate. We are supporting neither Obama nor McCain. They are all the same to us.
Please, get a copy of the book: MAVERICK GENERAL SMEDLEY D. BUTLER by Hans Schmidt Note: Thanks to Gen. Smedley D. Butler for exposing Bush's Family (etc.) plan. Or all Blacks/all Jews would have no longer existed (DEAD or UNBORN) in the U.S. today.
