A touch of Israeli
A guy was supposed to come to my office for a meeting with me and my boss. He wanted the meeting, not us. Trying to sell us something or other.
This guy is not getting a second chance. That's for sure.
- He came late
- He was not aware of the security it takes to get into the building, which causes more delays (forgivable)
- He came with a motorcycle helmet, which security does not let in to the building (why, I have no idea)
- He called up and asked to meet him downstairs over coffee
- We rejected it saying he is late and we have no time for that (don't forget - he wanted the meeting, not us).
- His secretary called asking why we are pushing him off - he is such an important person, blah blah blah
This guy is not getting a second chance. That's for sure.

This reminds me of some interview stories.
ReplyDeleteWe were supposed to interview someone at 2PM. He actually shows up at 3:30PM. When we ask him why he is late, he answers, why didn't you call me to remind me what time the interview was?
We scheduled an interview with a candidate. An hour before the interview he calls up and asks, please remind me what your company name is so that I can find it.
Needless to say they didn't get the job.
That secretary part is priceless! Classic Israeli chutzpah.
ReplyDeletebluke - that's funny!
ReplyDeleteRafi- you don't get it
ReplyDeleteYou are an important person- in fact I think you should run for mayor and I really mean it!
i think you should just run!
ReplyDeleteso writing a blog makes me qualified to run a city? maybe to run it into the ground!
ReplyDeleteBut thank you for your kind words
shaya - run from who and to where?
ReplyDeleteA South African was describing a real Israeli who he interviewed.
ReplyDeleteThe guy came an hour late dressed in a loud t-shirt and cut-off shorts. In the middle of the interview his phone rings and he talks loudly for 5 minutes before hanging up.
Needless to say, he didn't get the job.
