His name is Yaakov Ephraim Parisi. I read an article about him; I quote it:
"...Yaakov Ephraim and his wife Sarah Devorah are living in Morristown, New Jersey where he is learning in kollel in Yeshiva Tiferes Bachurim (a division of the Rabinical College of America) and touring North America to tell his story. Please contact Yaakov Ephraim about speaking at your synagouge."
Or google the name "Rabbi Dr. Asher Wade" hi's was also a christian minister... He convertdet to Chassidut Ger/Gur ...
Yaakov Parisi is a Chabadnik. He may be 'rabbi'. The last rebbe encouraged all Chabad men to get some sort of rabbinic ordination. If you do a Google search, you'll find that some sort of simple 'smicha' is common in Chabad circles.
Interesting and moving. But who is he? What's his name, where do he and his wife live, etc.?
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, your title is contradicted by his words. He's not a rabbi, but -- in his words -- a poshutte yid.
His name is Yaakov Ephraim Parisi.
