Sounds ridiculous?

Well, it seems there is a shortage of Fruit Roll Ups so they are selling at premium prices. Why is there a shortage? same excuse of supply chain issues, shipping issues, covid, and all the rest of the excuses we have been hearing the past couple of years? Nope. This shortage is because of Tik Tok. Fruit Roll Ups have gone viral because of the newest Tik Tok trend to freeze a fruit roll up, originally to freeze it rolled up around ice cream. Fruit roll ups are suddenly so popular they have flown off the shelves.

That is why a couple traveling from America to Israel got a couple of extra suitcases and stuffed them all with fruit roll ups. 375 pounds of fruit roll ups.

I remember the days when we smuggled in a few cans of tuna fish, or a couple of smartphones, qtips, cigarettes, and the like. Some people smuggle diamonds or drugs into countries. Fruit roll ups?

The biggest question might be how they got extra suitcases for this, but maybe it was worth their paying the $100 per extra suitcase, though not in hindsight since they were caught. That being the case, the next biggest question is why they were pulled over and caught. What were the customs officers looking for? Was this just a case of bad luck from a random check? Were they tipped off by the global fruit roll up cartel? And while we are on it, what excuse did they use to try to get out of trouble? Were they caught because they were smuggling fruit into Israel, as fruit can generally not be carried across borders....
