Naturally, the first thing Israel did after boarding Greta's vessel was hand out sandwiches—because we’re yet to meet an enemy we don’t feel compelled to feed. By God, we really are a Jewish state!
I am learning Rosh ha Shanah with one chavrusa. We recently learned the Mishna that states that the Sanhedrin arrange for large quantities of food in the courtyard where the witnesses for kiddush ha Chodesh would gather. מַתְנִי׳ חָצֵר גְּדוֹלָה הָיְתָה בִּירוּשָׁלַיִם וּבֵית יַעְזֵק הָיְתָה נִקְרֵאת, וּלְשָׁם כׇּל הָעֵדִים מִתְכַּנְּסִין. וּבֵית דִּין בּוֹדְקִין אוֹתָם שָׁם. וּסְעוּדוֹת גְּדוֹלוֹת עוֹשִׂין לָהֶם, בִּשְׁבִיל שֶׁיְּהוּ רְגִילִין לָבֹא. I commented: You see, nothing has changed in 2000 years. You want Jews to come, you put out a lot of food.

Classic Israeli response. For the vegan anti-fossil fuel queen they brought pastrami sandwiches wrapped in plastic bags.
