Quote of the Day (qotd)
A toss-up between:
1. The root of most of the problems before which Israel stands, is the loss of the Jewish identity... the challenge is to formulate a program of learning that obligates learning the core issues of Zionism so that every student will know why we are here and recognize the basic possessions of the Jewish Nation.
and
2. I think all students should also visit Judea and Samaria [and not just Jerusalem as EM Saar suggests]. Jerusalem is found in the national consensus. It is worthwhile for students to visit areas that are under debate, and by doing so will foster a love of the whole Land of Israel.
-----both quotes are from Likud MK Tzippi Hotoveli
Especially interesting is that these quotes (and others from other Likud MKs) are coming out of the Likud, and not just the more radical right wing parties. The Likud is going back to its roots.

Nice. Glad to see she's continuing in the paths she tred during the election, and that Likud might just be the party they should be.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of Tzippi Hotoveli but I don't know what you mean by "The Likud is going back to its roots." I remember Ariel Sharon saying that all jewish kids should visit Ma'arat Hamachpela. It's easy to talk but deeds is what counts.
ReplyDeleteWhy are the Jewish people unique enough to say Israel is a Jewish State? This is of interest to haredi Jews since much of early Zionism was a reaction to Judaism. Now there is the awareness among those left who are Zionists that only being Jewish can ensure Israel has a future. If the Jewish people do not look to Hashem and do not know why they belong in Eretz Israel they will perish from it. Zionism can today, never mean anything else. Or there is no Zionism.
