I heard you can't take your tefilin with you.
ReplyDeleteI've been there with my father about 12 years ago. All I can say is that it was an amazing, once in a lifetime experience. If I'm not mistaken, it's very rare that people go to visit. When I was there, they had a guestbook that was last signed over 6 months before!
ReplyDeleteThe yahrzeit is on Rosh Chodesh which is Friday. Why are they returning on Thursday?

Did he ever really exist, anyway?
I thought there was no mesorah on where he is actually buried... though that never stopped any other pilgrimages. Just another way of "kashering" a trip to Petra.
