The way to make Hadassah pay

Hospitals and doctors are not infallible. They make mistakes like anyone else and like any other organization, and unfortunately sometimes those mistakes are very costly in terms of peoples lives and health.

The recent case of the sick kid whose mother is accused of abuse that led to the violent protests in Jerusalem was a possible example of this. Nobody really knew what happened. We were not criticizing the protests because we think the hospital did everything correctly and made no mistakes in the administration of care. Perhaps they did. The criticism was regarding the reaction of the segment of haredi society - resorting to violent protests as the only way to solve the problem. That was unacceptable. if the hospital made a mistake, if they treated the kid incorrectly, if they misdiagnosed, if whatever, sue the hospital, take it up with the medical board in israel, etc.

Here is another example of a doctor, also in Hadassah Hospital, that was caught in malpractice. he performed a surgery without consent. The surgery caused damage to the patient. The doctor then forged a form of consent in order to cover himself. Instead of inciting riots, they sued the doctor and hospital and were just awarded 5 million shekels.

Doctors make mistakes, and try to cover them up. Hospitals do as well. There are ways of dealing with these situations, if you think that is the case, without resorting to primitive and barbaric behavior.

  1. The violence was not directed at Hadassah. It was directed at the state for kidnapping one of their women.

  2. To Anonymous,

'Kidnapping'? Are you kidding? Whether or not you think the authorities handled it well or poorly, acting like animals isn't the answer.

  3. Yes, welcome to the 21st century where we have courts, laws, judges, lawyers and all the other accoutrements of a lawful society. It's a shame this part of the charedi public is loathe to join in.

  4. blasphmemy. how can yoyou say such a thing. everyone knows that the state fun der reshoim der tzionisten der erev rav etc. is out to crush the haredim. let's crush them first.

of course, the above line of reasoning is an excellent but eerily orwellian example of how to use fear and hatred in order to turn people into mindless idiots in order to control them.

it is so sad that much of haredi society has been reduced to mindless automotons.
