Jerk curses out old Holocaust survivor (video)

I get that the "Ground Zero Mosque" debate stirs up emotions on both sides of the debate.. but this is a bit over the top..
I dont know why it matters that he is a Holocaust survivor (the title of the video uses the term) - are you allowed to curse anyone you want except for Holocaust survivors? Just because you are a Holocaust survivor does that make your opinion automatically right and nobody can argue with you? The guy spoke harshly no matter who was the person debating him.

Foul Language Alert!

  1. To be fair, the old man played the Holocaust card first, like he expected the other guy to back down the minute he said "I'm a survivor!"

At any rate, "Holocaust survivor" has become a sort of non-academic title in North America. If you're a PhD in botany you get to speak about plants. If you're a physician you get to speak about medicine. If you're a survivor you get to say whatever you want and people have to listen and nod approvingly.
It also extends to the children. How many opinion pieces about Jewish politics conclude with a statement that goes like "X is a factory worker from Iowa with no real post-secondary education but we printed his article because he's a children of survivors"?

  2. I feel the same way about how actors and rock stars are somehow given scholarly authority on everything too.

    Bratt Pitt is against this.
    Bono speaks out against that.
And don't get me started on Barbra Streisand.

Why? Because they can act or play a guitar?

  3. The "jerk" makes some excellent points (or at least the beginnings of some excellent points). Unfortunately, most people probably will ignore them because of the way he acted.
