Kol hakavod to Lema'an Achai for keeping their advertising simple yet powerful and not littering our buildings and streets with wasteful signs and banners.
ReplyDeleteI have to think twice about supporting organizations who spend tzedaka money so carelessly for PR.
At least with YK over we may have a break from the overkill of tzedaka advertising.
ReplyDeleteRafi..perhaps you know someone from the Kupa Shel Tzedaka who can explain something to me.
The Kupa is constantly bouncing between having "empty coffers" to having a slew of wealthy donors ready to double donations.
If these wealthy people are ready to donate large sums why should there EVER by empty coffers?
Something smells less than mehadrin in RBS.
The advertising is fine..everyone does it.
ReplyDeleteI just wish that the Kupa would come clean about the sponsor stuff. I know several of the businesses that are supposed "sponsors"..they pay nothing and receive free advertising so what do they care.
It's just a little disingenuous on the Kupa's part.
wealthy people, from what I understand, dont want to be the only ones donating to a community pot. They give what they give, like everyone else, and then they are also available in times of crisis and emergency appeals.
ReplyDeleteAnd when they can, they try to encourage others to donate by things such as these matching programs. It is a way to urge others to donate as well, rather than always relying on the gvir.
What I am curious to see is if the Kupa will really no longer run any appeals during the year. No more splashy purim campaigns, no more pre-pesach or any other holiday, no winter appeals... somehow I doubt it, but I am curious to see how this will work out for them
