Quote of the Day (qotd)

Just open the doors for us, and we'll make do on our own...Even if a fight happens because a woman gets on in the front, it is no worse than passengers who argue in the winter about whether or not to open a window..These are normal occurrences...

-----Rav Dov Landau, member of Committee for Kosher Transportation at Press Conference

They decided, with rabbinic approval to use the secular courts to pressure Egged to provide mehadrin service to the haredi community. Rabbi Landau said the above while gauranteeing that there would be no violence, as the community would follow orders obediently by way of dialogue, and not through violence.

  1. what does this mean "Even if a fight happens because a woman gets on in the front, it is no worse than passengers who argue in the winter about whether or not to open a window." this doesn't seem to be a call for peaceful protest?

  2. there is a major difference between these 2 scenarios: 1 is in our power to avoid such problems, the other is not.

  3. my mother said she and my father accidentally got on a mehadrin bus at the kotel, without realizing it. When asked to move to the back, my mom was like "No, I was very happy in the middle". Luckily for her , no violence ensued. :/

I hope this goes to the supreme court and they are stopped at the highest level. There is no halachic basis for these shenanigans.

Everyone "out there" (and particularly in RBSA) should begin to realize that ife as you know it is going to change.

The Charedim are going more Charedi and you'll just have to deal with it.

By voting for a Charedi mayor, patronizing very Charedi Rabbonim(Perlstein,Goldstein,Kornfeld,et al), allowing our kid's schools to become even more silly with their takanonim, supporting very Charedi organizations (Kupa,Vaad Harabbonim Artzi, etc)

we only empower this absurd move to becoming Talaban.

Last year there was a beautiful tekes/parade/concert on Yom HaaTzmaut. Another is planned for this year.

How long will it be before such activities will "offend the sensitivities" of the locals and be pushed off into Bet Shemesh? As is is there are plenty of streets that don't sport flags for Yom Haatzmaut.

Do these same people become offended when they see symbols of Medinat Yisrael on their checks, zchuyot, etc?

Perhaps this not so silent majority should take the teachings of Rav Kook, z''l and be as Chared in their bein adom l'chaveiro as their are in their bein adom lamakom.
