Live Blogging the Outbreak of War
22Av, 5770: War Day
overnight: the house of some Hamas guy with an Arabic sounding name blew up in Gaza, injuring more than 30 people. Cause? Unclear. Possibly Israel sent him to meet with his 72 virgins, possibly a "work accident".
8:25 am: 5 katyusha rockets shot at Eilat no injuries reported. Injuries reported and 5 dead in Jordan as 1 Katyusha was overshot into the wrong country.
is it war? I guess it depends if Israel, or Jordan, responds (war is at least two sided)
8:45 am: no response yet
8:59 am: still no response
perhaps war has been averted?
9:00 am: some saber rattling from Syria - President Assad makes comments about the chances of war increasing and they will not negotiate over their land - Israel must leave all of the Golan Heights.
10:52 am: nothing new on the war front
11:27 am: all is quiet on the war front. Soldiers have been spotted napping, playing cards, praying and even shooting the breeze.
13:18 pm: all is quiet.
13:21 pm: one of the injured Jordanians from the morning rocket attack has died.
14:00 pm: all is quiet. except for my kids - they seem to be at war.
15:11 : still nothing. this is getting kind of old, but about 4.5 hours still remain to the day. Anything can happen. My kids seem to have finished their war without any serious injuries. Perhaps the prayers of the mekubalim did help.
18:01: All is quiet on the war front. I think they actually decided it was too hot to start a war today.
stay tuned for further updates

It's a mricle, the war was won before it was even declared, with ZERO injuries.
ReplyDeleteWe should decalre a Holiday and have a Sudat Hoadaya.
In other words, a day like any other
ReplyDeletehmmmm.. interesting.
ReplyDeletebut in actuality, we really dont know what crises were meant to happen that were miraculously averted, as per the gemara in nida on 32a.
