The Haredim will have to pay the price in Jewish history that because of them the State of Israel is less Jewish.. If the Haredim would participate in life, the State of Israel would be far more traditional...
It would be so easy to comment on this, but in memory of gedolim who taught us not to embarras people in public, I will refrain about what this minister says.
You know that he happens to be a Rosh Yeshiva, which means that he knows a lot more Torah than you do in addition to knowing the ins and outs of Israeli religious life a lot better than you do.
I find it interesting that you think that a black-and-white halakha (it's a pasuk in the Chumash, in fact) comes from "the gedolim." It's certainly beginning to look like charedim have a religion completely different from Judaism.

That was the original failed plan of the religious zionist movement. and now he blames it on the chareidim...
