the other side of the strike
Some of the big chains and businesses around the country have decided to strike over the judicial reform situation.
Now this is dedication. Shutting down, going on strike, right before Pesach during what is probably the biggest shopping season of the year, that is dedication. Big and Fox and all those other chains joining the strike - that is leaving a lot of money on the table.
McDonalds announced they are joining the strike. Big news, but maybe being shut for a few days will also help improve the health of the average Israeli. I have nothing against McDonalds but fast food chains are selling what is not the healthiest of foods, tasty as they may be.
As a consumer, and especially as the father of consumers, this strike should have started a few days ago, before my kids went shopping for the holiday.... This strike might be a godsend for the people who are already suffering under inflationary prices and a weakening shekel...

Meanwhile cancer and cardiac patients are also joining the strike by foregoing necessary treatments since the doctors are striking. Of course, no one asked them if they want to...
ReplyDeleteAnd with Bibi backing down, we now see the opposition's true colours. Gantz is willing to sit and negotiatie. Lapid? Not so much. Apparently he holds that Bibi is bluffing which I guess is how he'll justify continuing to attack the government and egg on his followers and he's now demanding that Israel adopt a constitution, one that will be according to his liking, of course.
ReplyDeletethe headlines I see say both Lapid and Gantz have announced readiness to talk about compromises..
DeleteTime of Israel: Gantz, soaring in polls, says he’ll enter genuine talks; Lapid suspects PM bluffing; Herzog offers to host dialogue; labor union, local councils call off strikes; protests to go on

Lapid: we are prepared to talk, we rely on the President can be mediator

Gantz and Lapid: We are prepared to enter discussions
Basically, I have no problem with anyone being suspicious that they are walking into a trap of some sort, but they say they are willing to talk
So the anti zionists were correct all along since way back?
ReplyDeleteThe secularist forces will destroy the state (that they and their mouthpieces always incessantly trumpeted how important it was/is),
rather than tolerate any Democratic based substantive changes or improvements?
On the other hand-
Charedi tipshim. Rothman ,Levin, &The others will help for their cause more than for any other .Instead of massive appreciation they will pull the rug out from underneath &cave in
“The country is above all. It doesn’t matter now who is right”
