Interesting Psak: Bear Arms
While Rabbi Mordechail Malka, Rav of Elad, might not approve of bare arms, he does approve of bearing arms.
In light of the horrific terror attack this past Shabbos in Jerusalem, Rav Malka issued a psak that anyone who is licensed to carry a gun must do so and must carry it on Shabbos as well, out of concern of pikuach nefesh.

The Shulchan Aruch says carrying a weapon on Shabbat is OK, but there it seems to be because back then, a sword was part of the clothing of a gentleman.
