The Texter's Set Photlog

The Texter's Set Photlog

This set of photos is making the rounds. The idea being that people concentrate too much on their phones, ignoring their surroundings which are beautiful and engaging. Perhaps at times we do ignore our surroundings too much, ignore those around us, even ignore those we are in the middle of engaging with and give priority to the phone that suddenly rings or bleeps that a new sms, email or tweet has arrived. On the other hand, the ability to communicate with people around the world is also a beautiful thing.

  3. Interesting but not overly impressive. I am sure if I spent a day or 2 walking around I can put together the same type of montage of people tying their shoes- does this mean that everyone is suddenly obsessed with their shoes? I am not saying that people are not getting addicted to these devices but I don't think this particular set of photos proves anything or makes a very strong case.

  4. I agree. a picture is capturing a moment in time. Maybe that guy spent hours walking enjoying the scenery, and just at the moment he answered a call on his cell, or stopped for a break and checked his email, the photographer snapped his picture. It does not really tell the entire story.
