Stand by Your Man
While of course there is room for debating whether yesterday's actions by the IDF, and those of the left wing activists, were correct or wrong, or whether things could have been handled better or differently and everybody can have their own opinion, I was still very mcuh relieved to see that debate notwithstanding, people still felt the need to stand by the decision of the Israeli government.
In a time of crisis, debate is fine, but at the end of the day responsible people will stand by the decision and not make trouble.
Kadima pulled a scheduled no confidence motion yesterday due to the crisis of the day. They supported the government during the crisis (whether or not they agreed on the actual action). There is room for debate and that can be done later. But to hit the government during a crisis would be irresponsible.
Another example is that Satmar canceled some protests in different places, NY and Washington (and maybe others), that were scheduled for yesterday. When the State is catching it from all directions, it is not the time to protest, even though they stated they did not approve of what the Zionists had done. Despite their disagreement, they were responsible enough to realize, as per the Satmar Rebbe's z"l dictum, that this was not the time for public disagreement.

Good for them for recognizing this.
ReplyDeleteTwo things:
1. Niturei Karta still felt it necessary to demonstrate alongside the Arab world, helping to spread their hate
2. While I do admire Tzipi's decision, she couldn't resist taking a couple shots at the government while she was doing it - such as "I'm the only one here doing hasbarah! Where are all the government people?"
Today in RBS-B there were anti zionist signs posted:
ReplyDeleteאין כניסה לציונים
Jew Hate Zionists
שלטון ערבי לא שלטון ציוני
Neturei Karta is a different world.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the notice I saw about Satmar canceling its protest was from the Reb Zalman half of Satmar. I am told that the Reb Aharon half still went on with their hafgana in Washington.
Rafi - the Aharoni demonstration was in NYC. I do not believe they had one in DC.
ReplyDeleteNo, there is no room for debate here. Why does everything has to have 2 sides to it?
ReplyDeleteCan you debate whether the Nazi's were justified?
Unless you are referring to the huge mistake of endangering Jewish lives for teh sake of world opinion by not just blasting the ship to kingdom scum you are really off base here.
Can you explain to me ANY side where the Israelis were wrong?
You are giving merit to that clown Erdoyan who calls us pirates etc.
SHAME ON YOU!!!....
