Kollel Cooperation
The Ministry of Education supervisors have fired back with a choopar, as we say in hebrew meaning a bonus or a benefit, to encourage kollels to cooperate, along with to encourage them to meet the criteria required.
They have announced, according to a report in yediot Acharonot, that the overall budget allotted to the kollel system will remain the same no matter how many kollels qualify and how many are disqualified. meaning, when a kollel is disqualified for either not cooperating or for not meeting criteria, the money designated for them will not be lost but will be put back into the system and distributed among the other kollels.
Will the kollels cooperate, especially now that they might make some extra money by doing so, or will they follow instructions of Rav Shteinman and withstand the temptation?
