Dramatic Photos Released
The White House released some photos they are calling "dramatic" that show President Obama with his senior staff monitoring the mission that was in progress, assassinating Osama Bin Laden.
This is the dramatic photo (and a couple more can be seen on the White House website)"
I am not sure what is quite so dramatic about this image, or any of the others that are even less so. For all we know they are watching a baseball game, or the latest episode of How I Met Your Mother.
Perhaps it would be dramatic if we could see what was on the screen they are looking at. Or maybe if there was video and we could here them talking tensely, cheering, groaning, etc. But just a group of people sitting around a table staring at something in the distance is not quite so dramatic.

I think the drama is in the fact that we know that they're not just watching a baseball game.
ReplyDeleteYou may be confusing "dramatic" with "exciting".
I agree with Yoni R.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty dramatic ... perhaps the only legal snuff film, and a live one at that!
ReplyDelete:-)
Maybe the drama is in having all of those "high-powered" people together in one room, focussed on one purpose.
ReplyDelete[And, if I may indulge in some cynicism, not undermining each other, running against each other, and so on...]
But I much prefer the Israeli method of not talking about its operations so much...
