1 - RC Malinowitz, rov of beis tefillah (and supposedly the rov behind tov -- see below as well) was at the degel asifa last night. So was Rav Kirschenbaum, Rav kornfeld, rav goldstein, rav dinkel and others. packed house.
If you can get hold of Rav Goldsteins shmooze about daas torah, and those who ignore it, its well worth the effort.
Also interesting to note was how REK compared the "new party who seeks change" to "the winner of the elections in america" as someone with little platform except "change" but when you engage them as to how to change and how this chance will improve, in "2 minutes" you see that they are running on empty.
Also in attendance were 2 shlichim from Maran Rosh HaYeshiva, Rav Shetinman, rav chizkiyahu mishkovsky who spoke very well, and rav Levenstein, the gabbai of RAYLS, who said b'kitzur if the Gedolim take from their precious time to discuss and decide the politcs of bet shemesh, its not some game that any tom dick and harry can come and say thats rav sheitnmans opinion and i have my opinion. Woe to those who cause agmas nefesh to the RY , and Ashrei to those who cause nachas ruah to him
2 - I was told that the Tov netzigim-hopeful went to RMG last week to ask for a brocha. He said he cant give them a brocha unless he knows that they listen to rabbonim. They said of course they do. He said if the rabbonim tell you not to run, will you listen, they said sure. He said I am a rabbi, and i say not to run. They said you are not our rabbi, our rabbi is rabbi Malinowitz. RMG said RCM and I are close, I will talk to him and if he tells you not to run, will you listen? They responded, well, hes not our rov either. So who is their Rov?.... The answer - We have a rov, but its a secret and we cant tell you.
Phew, good thing that thay have rabbinic support!!
