Who is behind Abutbol?
The following contains information I have not verified, but I know the source of it is generally reliable....

Dear Readers of Lifeinisrael,
When I spoke to Rafi about this post, I mentioned the idea of writing it with my name attached. Out of fear for possible repercussions, I decided to post it anonymously, even though my anonymity might take away from the effect my post will have. In any event, many of you will be able guess who I am.
Moshe Abutbul is a good person. He is not a monster. In his own personal life, he is no extremist.
However -- and this is a big however.
The people backing Moshe Abutbul are extremists and "kanoim" (I put that word in quotation marks in deference to Rav Malinowitz, who opposes using that expression for Charedi hooligans). I can provide names and details upon request, in the comments. For the first time in the history of the State of Israel, these kanoim are planning on going to the polls.
And for good reason.
Abutbul has made a number of promises to these extremists, including specific land allocations to their insitutions and an overall promise to follow the Edah Hacharedis's rabonim.
This would explain the following fact: the Edah Hacharedis has been relatively silent on the local elections (they usually put out 10 times as much anti-voting propoganda).
The mayoral election is more than a question of official party platforms. It's about how this city will look over the next five years. Which rabbonim will be consulted? Which community leaders will have a say?
Will our rabbonim (and Rebbes) be heard? Or will those who insult our rabbonim be the ones determining city policy?

I hear that as being a real concern, however, there are quite a number of "regular guys" who are backing him specificaly from BTYA. I would think that these guys would have taken that into account, as I know a couple of them, and they really don't seem the types to want the landscape of our city to turn to that direction.
ReplyDeleteRafi,
ReplyDeleteThis is the person who wrote the post.
I will verify that in an email.
Eliezer -- The Abutbul people in BTYA don't know the kanoim. I do. (If I revealed my identity, then you would understand.)
And I can tell you that the kanoim are licking their chops.
OK T.S. Why can't you post with your name?
ReplyDeleteAre you afraid that the kanaim who are with Abutbul will beat you up again?
Where do you get this info from? I know these kanonim and they wouldn't even talk to Abutbul after all his is sefardi and third class in their eyes. The problem with the kanim is that they don't care what you do to them. send them to jail you have made a maryter out of them, when they are released they get a hero's welcome complete with music and the works. It is such a deep problem, I don't belive for a minute they are going to vote I am actually think they are going to tey to disturb the voting in the kirya and bet.
ReplyDeletethese people are lawless and violate halacha. the problem is not going to be solved by the police or yasmnikim etc because as i said, punishing them is a reward in their warrped mind it makes them feel worthwhile and justfies thier exsistance. The only people , and I am not even sure they can, do anything is the Rabbonim. And people who own apartments in bet should not rent to any kaniom.
Just think about these guys wives and children- they are the real rachmanis!
I am voting for Abutbul. Lerener sold us out to the Gerris who are cleverly using him and will milk the iryah for all its worth. who arranges for the discounts on arnonna? -Ger Who has taken the land in the kirya for the matnas to put their eyesore caravan done there? -Ger who has 6 shuls in the kirya? -Ger Who has taken many apartments on Ben Kisman sponsered by the goverment using forged documents? -Ger
Who has a Ger brother and two ger nephews living in the kirya? -Shalom Lerner.
I was goint to vote for him until he announced his alliance.
If you are afraid that G will milk MA for all of their shtuyot- you haven't meet Ger yet. Trust me there 24 hour campianing for Lerener comes with a heavy price- one that this central Anglo who know Ger very well does not want to pay.
Wake up people! Shalom sold us out! Gerrers are master polticians and they have the anglos wrapped around their fingers. they have no intrest in achdus, they want power and SL is willing to give it to him.
the source responded to me with the following:
ReplyDeleteAbutbul is connected 1000 percent to the extreme kanoim.
1. He promised Baruch Yehuda Blau, who runs the most extreme girl's school (Bnos Yerushalayim), to give them a plot of land.
2. The head of the Mishmeres Hatznius in Bet Shemesh, Pinchas Pakshar, is in charge of Abutbul's campaign very hard for Abutbul.
3. The kanoim have been quiet. That is a fact. The Edah Hacharedis would normally have produced as much material as Gimmel, but they have been silent.
4. Abutbul is completely loyal to Rabbi Kopshitz. He has no problem saying this in public -- as long as Americans aren't around.
5. Abutbul promised to bring another 1,000 yerushalmi kanoim to the area near Heftziba.
6. The Gerers are the ONLY group in Charedi constellation of Bet Shemesh (outside of Tov) that are truly interesting in fighting the kanoim.
7. If you are voting Tov, you should know that the leadership of Tov is dying for Lerner to be elected. Under Lerner, Tov will have twice the power than it will have under Abutbul.
