Will Jon Stewart Broadcast From Israel?

So Jon Stewart might be coming to Israel to broadcast an episode of The Daily Show...

According to Globes:
Sources inform ''Globes'' that the most influential man in America - "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart is in talks to broadcast a show from Israel. Ananey Communications Ltd. (TASE:ANAC), which represents Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA.B), the owner of "The Daily Show's" channel, Comedy Central, is seeking a way to finance the Emmy Award-winning comedian's visit to, and broadcast from, Israel. The production will reportedly cost $500,000.
Comedy Central is scheduled to be aired on cable by HOT Telecommunication Systems Ltd. (TASE: HOT) beginning in January. A recent US survey found that Stewart, born as Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, is more influential than President Barack Obama. "The Daily Show" is an important source of news for Americans, even more than real news programs.
"The Daily Show" often leaves the studio for on-site clips in various cities. The current affair satire often hosts leading politicians and newsmakers. Stewart is considered the liberal voice in America.
Ananey Communications is considering asking Israeli government officials to support Stewart's visit. He is a supporter of Israel, and frequently comments on events in the Middle East in his program.
The funniest part of this is where they say he is a supporter of Israel and frequently comments on events int he Middle East. Yes, Stewart does comment on the Middle East fairly frequently. However, at least on the show, he does not come off as being a supporter of Israel. He almost always is highly critical of the Israelis and supportive of the Palestinian narrative and the left-wing agenda. Perhaps in private he is more supportive, donating to Israeli causes or whatnot.

Regardless, if he comes to broadcast from Israel, and I don't know how it would be worth coming all this way  to broadcast just one show unless he will be broadcasting a show from each of multiple countries in the region such as Jordan and Egypt, and maybe the PA's Ramallah, I know I would try to get tickets to the show..

  1. Aside of that "most influential man" crap, I rather like the guy and yes, will be worth getting tickets.

  2. He could just simply be sending a correspondent, like when Jason Jones was sent to Iran. Moving the entire show would be a logistical nightmare.

  3. Anon,

Yes it would be a logistical nightmare (unless they build a set here), which is why it would cost half a million dollars to do. If it was just sending a correspondant, I can't see how it would cost that much.

  4. i actually don't think he is anti-israel. i think he is anti-politicians, and we've got them "a-plenty".

  5. i dont know. I like Jon Stewart a lot and find him very funny. However, whenever he talks about Israel, no matter how funny the segment is, he makes me uncomfortable with his approach. I rarely find him to be too supportive, and most of the time he is very negative, even when not talking about any specific politician

  6. Mixed feelings. I do find him funny, but this whole thing compels me to roll my eyes,...a lot.

Is he bringing his shiqsa concubine, too?

    He's married to a shiqsa, isn't he?

  7. this my first time on this site so I won't get to much into your narrative. I am Daniel i'm 25 I live in tel aviv and i (try) to watch "the daily show" with jon stewart on a daily basis. he is not bias against Israel or for the palestinian narrative he IS against right wing (for lack of a better word)propaganda. yes, sometimes it feels like Israel is being mocked but everybody is being mocked. Mr. Stewart is clearly a democrat but takes shots at them all the time including on president Obama. nobody can possibly say that he is "anti" Obama but when stewart needs to "put" someone :in their place" he does so. I welcome him to Israel. gladly! i hope someone reads this. D
