I appreciate that a Beis Din was prosecuting him, but how come the police and the secular courts which would've had more power to punish him, were not going after him?
One thing that puzzles me here is, what happens to the laws of yichud? Were they observed?
If yes, I have a hard time understanding how he committed so many cases of abuse so long.
If no, then how is it that no one called him on it, given that he is an Orthodox therapist with, I assume, mostly Orthodox clientele. Did no father or mother ever say, hey, how are you allowed to be alone with my daughter?
I don't believe there were any cases of actual force; what they call rape is constructive rape due to being underage or imbalance of power and influence. That being the case, I assure you that it's easy to organize circumstances that will allow this kind of behavior when you have a willing or an infatuated partner.
I think people are forgetting that he was never convicted of anything or proven to have committed these crimes. To state his guilt unequivocally is wrong.

ReplyDeleteThe police were investigating. Apparently, yesterday they told him they were going to charge him.

ReplyDeletePlenty of people never convicted of anything are obviously guilty.
