The National Religious Counter-Pashkevilim
Some teens from Bet Shemesh covered up many of the pashkevils around town by pasting the following pashkevils of their own:
Love your fellow Jew with caring and acceptance |
pass through the neighborhood in cool attire. don't harm our sense of style |
please try not to drive through our neighborhood on shabbos. if you must, drive slower, watch out for kids in the road, and dont play music at an exagerrated noise level |
Are we going to see an escalation of a pashkevil war? At least these have some color on them and arent filled with a lot of words in small fonts...

cool!
ReplyDeletebtw, I think the third poster/pashkevill should be translated as "Dear driver! Please refrain from driving" rather than "please try not to drive".
I am proud of these folks. The entire visual and verbal tone is much better. The one about clothing has a sly sense of humor, too. Now if the kanaim could only learn from this. That won't happen; but some of the folks on the sidelines will at least see that observant Jews can find a different tone and manner for dealing with conflict.
ReplyDeleteExcellent response to the situation. Good for them!
ReplyDeleteThe problem is, these "pashkevills" are too small! they don't look "professional" enough!
ReplyDeleteWhat would be great is if they looked like regular pashkevills and so wouldn't be so easy to tear down or notice.
Very cool.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL!!! So well done.
