Selling your observance on ebay
The next strange thing to hit eBay is someone who is trying to see how much you will pay her to dress tzniyusly for a week.
there are some strange people out there, but definitely an interesting concept. if she already dresses tzniyusly, then she has lost nothing and makes money on doing something she already does. If she doesn't dress tzniyusly right now, then perhaps "mee-toch she'lo l'shma, ba l'shma" - she might start off dressing tzniyusly for pay, but maybe eventually it will become permanent...
And I wonder what I can get people to pay me to do... bidding for this closed at $350...

She has been an aquataince of mine for a number of years now- part of her point, and one of her big pet peeves, is that people pick and choose their mitzvot- and shun people for not keeping the ones they think are important.
ReplyDeleteShe wants people to "put their money where their mouths are so to speak.
She normally is not tzanuah to the extent she would be for the week this was set for.
it says the bidding was closed. do you know what requirements were made on her for the week? what type of dressing, according to what standards, does she have to keep to?
ReplyDeleteTo be fair she was doing it in refrence to some folks who said that wearing a skirt 1" above the knee was a far greater sin then theft. I think she was more interested in making a point then actually selling something
ReplyDeleteHere is her original post...

ReplyDeleteI *think* winner could set the standard.
ReplyDeletethat is what it says there. I am just wondering since you know her, maybe you know what standard was set
ReplyDeletePerhaps this link is helpful to explain how this offer came to be:
